Music: Mickey J Meyer
Cinematography: Sameer Reddy
Producers: Dil Raju - Sireesh
Story, Screenplay & Direction: Vegesna Satish
Release Date: 14th January 2017
Sharwanand delivered a success during last year's Sankranti with 'Express Raja' despite clash with three biggies. This time, He didn't hesitate to release 'Shatamanam Bhavati' even though two prestigious films (Khaidi No.150 & Gautamiputra Satakarni) were in race. What is that aspect which made Dil Raju & Co., take a daring step? Let's check it out…
Story:
Raghava Raju (Prakash Raj) and his wife Janaki (Jayasudha) reside in a village named Athreyapuram. Upon knowing about his wife's strong desire to see her children and grandchildren settled in foreign countries, Raghava Raju chalks out a strategy for a family get-together in the village. What's that strategy? How did Janaki react upon knowing it? Know more by watching the movie in the theaters near you!
Performances:
Sharwanand has given a subtle performance. Audience will instantly connect with his character due to his natural performance.
Anupama who played a village belle in her debut impresses this time in a modern role. Even dubbing has suited the NRI role to the T.
Yet again, Prakash Raj and Jayasudha are the pillars of the movie. While Prakash showed his true calibre in Climax, Jayasudha too has done a brilliant job. Naresh steals the show as Bangarraju. Praveen, Prabhas Seenu and Racha Ravi has done justice to their roles.
Technical Aspects:
Although Music composed by Mickey J Meyer remind us of 'SVSC', Songs such as 'Mamathalu Panche', 'Nilavade' & the duet of Lead Pair were soothing to the ears. Background Score is okay. Camera Work by Sameer Reddy is so colorful. Especially, Picturization of songs is nice. Production Values are appreciable. Satish Vegesna scores brownie points both as writer & director. Dialogues penned by him will hit the right chord. Though the story lacked freshness, Few Scenes penned by the Debutant were good enough and he presented it in an impactful manner. He, however, falters a bit in the Second Half.Plus Points:
- Performances
- Music
- Climax
Minus Points:
- Predictability
- Uneven Pace
Finally My personal opinion about Director And Film :
Writer-turned-Director Satish Vegesna chose an age-old story and tried his best to present it in an lively manner. 'Shatamanam Bhavati' yet again proves that audience don't complain even if old subjects were recycled as long as it entertains. Neither Story nor Screenplay of this Sharwanand-starrer is fresh or exceptional but lively and convincing scenes makes it worth a watch.Village Backdrop, Performances & Scenes laced with family emotions have been the strength of 'Shatamanam Bhavati'. Even the Run Time of 140 minutes comes in handy. The role of Bangarraju done by Naresh will stand out.
Rating : 2.5/5
Tagline : Old story but worth to watch
Final Word : Shatamanam Bhavati is a clean family entertainer
