At a fashion showKatrina Kaif attracted the attention of London-based filmmaker Kaizad Gustad. He selected her for a role in the English-Hindi erotic heist film Boom as part of an ensemble cast that included Amitabh Bachchan, Gulshan Grover, Jackie Shroff, Madhu Sapre and Padma Lakshmi. While filming in India, Kaif received other offers and decided to stay in the country. In 2003, she received notice as a model after walking the ramp for Rohit Bal at the India Fashion Week and appeared in the first Kingfisher Calendar. Kaif soon established a successful modelling career in India after endorsing brands such as Panasonic Air Conditioner, Fevicol and Samsung, Loreal Paris Shampoo and conditioner.

After the failure of her first Bollywood film,katrina kaif appeared in the Telugu film Malliswari with Daggubati Venkatesh, she played the title role of a princess forced to flee from her murderous caretaker.Once again Katrina Kaif given a short role opposit Abhishek Bachchan's girlfriend in Ram Gopal Varma's political thriller film Sarkar. Sarkar was hit as commercialy and criticaly. After that kaif acted opposit to Salman Khan, Sushmita Sen and Sohail Khan in Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya?, and the film was accepted as her "first real step into Bollywood" which was Directed by David Dhawan, the film was a successful romantic comedy.In this Film For her role as a suicidal model, Kaif received the Stardust Award for Breakthrough Performance – Female.
After that she stared with Akshay Kumar in the Humko Deewana Kar Gaye in a leeading role opposit to akshy kumar but the film was unsuccessful and the story was of two like-minded strangers who fall in love while they were being engaged to others.Katrina Kaif's career changed when she appeared in four Bollywood hits. And it was Vipul Amrutlal Shah's romantic comedy Namastey London given he a milestone in indian cinema.In this film kaif play a role who spoilt British Indian girl intent on marrying her self-centred British boyfriend, but her parent disapprove them and her family come to India and for searching her a boy for marry her. The film was a big hit on the box offic and given mix review and Sukanya Verma wrote that Kaif "suits the role. Kaif's chemistry with Akshay Kumar was well received by the critics.
After that she worked with Boby Deol in Apne as a supporting role of a doctor. And the film was highly accepted by the audience as it marked the first appearance of Dharmendra with his sons, Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol. After Apne she rejoined director David Dhawan and Salman Khan for the comedy film Partner opposit Govinda and Lara Dutta and it was a big hit worldwide,and the film was get financial success. After that she worked in Welcome with Akshay Kumar, Nana Patekar, Mallika Sherawat and Anil Kapoor, Race with Saif ali Khan and Akshay Khanna, Singh Is King with Akshay Kumar, Yuvraj with Salman Khan, Newyork with John abraham, Ajab prem ki Gajab Kahani with Ranbeer Kapoor,Rajniti, Doom3 with Amir Khan, Jabtak Hai Jaan with Shahrukh Khan, Bang Bang with Hritik Roshan etc.
