She is the daughter of actor Kamal Haasan and Sarika Thakur. Actor Kamla Hasan is already a famous super star in south indian cinema and hindi cinema.
Shruti made her acting debut in bollywood from Luck which was release in 2009 it was a action drama film,with Imran Khan, Sanjay Dutt and Ravi ishan. Imran Khan, her childhood friend, had recommended her name to the director and Shruti Haasan signed on after listening to the entire script and accepted to play a dual role in the action film.She took part in action scenes during filming, while she also worked out to get a toned body for a sequence in which she appears in a bikini in the film.Unfortunately Luck was flopped at the boxoffice and commercially failure. After that she return inTelugu film,and made her debut in Anaganaga O Dheerudu it was a superhit film, for her performace she win critical acclaim for her role, after that she appeared in Oh My Friend with Sidharth and her Tamil debut 7aum Arivu with Tamil superstar Surya.
Shruti has given several successful Telgu and Tamil films like Balupu, Yevadu,Chennai vs China, Race Gurram and Srimanthudu, she established herself as one of the leading actress in Tamil and Telugu films. Shruti also like to singigng in indian languages for this she is starting thier music album from her father's production house.
She made a cameo appearance in a the horror film Hisss starring Mallika Sherawat for a promotional video, she had also sung a song composed by Dave Kushner in this film.
Shruti was signed by A. R. Murugadoss to star opposite Suriya in his next film 7aum Arivu in 2010, and in this film she played a scientist role and she is looking so intelligent and beautiful. The film opened to mixed reviews, but became commercially successful.After that she worked her next Telugu release was Oh My Friend, it was a romantic comedy film alongside Siddharth, Hansika Motwani and Navdeep. The film is based on the story of childhood friends and thier friendship. After a long time her second Hindi feature film was romantic comedy Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji, which was directed by Madhur Bhandarkar, stared with Emraan Hashmi, Ajay Devgn and Shazahn Padamseeand the film went on to become a commercial success at the box office.
Her Next hindi film was Ramaiya Vastavaiya which was a romantic comedy film and it was commercially successfull at the boxoffice. In 2015 she worked in anothe film Gabbar is Back opposit to Akshay kumar and the film was a big hit at the box office then again she work in Welcome back a multistarer film with John Abraham Anil Kapoor, Nana Patekar in 2015 it was a remake of welcom.
